Small-Town Starlet
Dottie, a starry-eyed girl living in the backwoods of rural Wisconsin, has dreams of being a "real singer," climbing down off the bar her mom bartends where she's found her only stage. She floats through delusions of grandeur while coping with her absent father, chaotic barfly mother, newly-absent sister, and the feeling that she needs to grow up and doesn't know how. In this maelstrom of emotions enters a new, and handsome stranger into town, a charismatic man who indulges her pop star dreams and guides her towards them. As they fall in love, they fall into a fever dream where any way out of town is possible - leading them down a path of crime. As she pursues a way out of her small town, she seeks to find out the mystery of who her father is, and finds answers that shake the very foundation of her life, leading to a cataclysmic climax. Amassing over 25,000 organic views since it's debut, this feature film musical was built on zero budget, featuring the philosopher, filmmaker, and composer Micah Tewers.
